Explore Our Living Plant Library
At Toronto Botanical Garden, we believe everyone deserves access to nature and the knowledge that helps it thrive. From our gardens to this online plant library, we exist to share the benefits of nature, expand access to plant knowledge, and support the well-being of people and the planet. Like the garden itself, this living plant library is always growing. New plants, images, and insights are added regularly as our collection evolves, reflecting our ongoing commitment to learning, sharing, and connection.

Garden Information
Toronto Botanical Garden is more than a garden; it’s a place to connect. With 14 city-sized gardens, from pollinator havens and formal hedges to Canada’s only Piet Oudolf-designed garden, the Garden invites you to experience the restorative benefits of nature. Stroll through ornamental gardens linked to Toronto’s urban ravine system and explore over 3,000 living plants in our curated collection. Admission is free.
More than 70 years ago, Rupert Edwards envisioned a public garden for Toronto, transferring ownership of 35 acres in mid-Toronto so the community could connect with nature freely. That founding spirit continues today through a partnership between the City of Toronto and Toronto Botanical Garden, a registered charity.
